Posted on here for career advice last year and got some really great replies, which I took onboard and am now working in a new DE role using Python & AWS.
My question is, is it worth learning another programming language (outside of work) alongside Python or should I focus all my efforts on becoming a stronger Python developer?
I learned Java at university several years ago and haven't used it much since but quite fancy picking it back up. I'm wondering if I would I be better off learning Scala, as it seems to be more/just as in-demand in the DE space?
Would there be any advantage to picking up Java again before moving onto Scala?
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Should have mentioned that I know SQL and have worked with it for a number of years in previous roles. |
