Alexi Delano pres. A.D.1010 'Stories of an Alien Brother' CD (Harthouse Mannheim) On this album Alexi Delano is our space commander: In the beginning he takes us to a hidden studio in the heart of New York City´s old subway system – electronic equipment, speakers, cables, giant flat screens and controllers everywhere, radio messages from out of space are coming in every second – alien languages, curious sounds. It´s dark, hot and airless in here when Alexi introduces his alien brother to us. Split seconds later both put their headphones on, throw us is in their space-bass-ship and preparing us for an exciting and versatile flight trough their sound galaxy. Filthy electro beats, firm basslines, driving drum arrangements and exciting vocoder sounds are telling us the “Stories of An Alien Brother”. 3, 2, 1, mark!!! And here we are on our space flight – on the controls commander Alexi Delano, blasting the onboard soundsystem with the dirty electro monster “Understanding”. Of course you can find “Space for Bass” that already saw its successful single release on Harthouse on this album as well as “Crack the Bubble” with its reduced but catchy melody. To “Laser Beam Dream” we are manoevering our space ship trough alien laser fire, passing the Kuiper belt when Alexi´s alien brother is questioning us “Can you compete?” Yes we can – putting the controls to full throttle, accelerating our ship to maximum speed. After heavy turbulences we are reaching a peaceful planetary system and are recovering to the wonderful “Wanna get deeper” – co-produced by Cari Lekebusch. After that we have to put the stealth modus on, leaving the planets behind us, heading forward to the trippy “Magnetique Flow”. Accelerating to full speed again we are receiving radio waves from an unknown species, inviting us to join them on their planet. After the successful landing Alexi Delano plays “My Alien Brothers”, causing collective mass hysteria: star warriors waving their hands in the air, shacking their antennas and satellite dish like ears. Having finally found a planet where trendsetting electronic music is appreciated we are sending “Alpha Data” to our base station and with the massive and filthy distorted electro stomper “We are here” Alexi Delano is announcing that we are going to stay and party on forever with our alien brothers! Qty: 4 Item No. 88066 $17.99

Various 'Conspiracy Uncovered' CD (Tuning Spork) The Tuning Spork label presents their first-ever CD compilation, featuring tracks from the past up to their current hits. This 10-track CD will take you on a nice little journey through the many different shades Tuning Spork has to offer -- hopefully introducing their impressionistic view of what is to come. It's been 7 long years! Seven years of constantly pushing boundaries, seven years of believing that there is a place for funk and humor within the ever-conceptualized minimal house/techno scene. This CD is dedicated to the most dedicated Tuning Spork artists: Dan Curtin (a man who needs no introduction, a man who has been working this genre for 15 years), Samim (one of the most prolific newcomers -- his brand of funk with the Samim and Michal project, his collaborative sleaze project with Jay Haze, Bearback, or his solo work with vocalist Lil Dirrty Ghetto Bastard prove he is a force not to be funked with -- but to be funked to), Michal Ho (a true-tested producer with his own distinguished sound, a man who is comfortable working many different genres and fusing influence from everywhere. The result is always something extremely enjoyable, with a touch of jack), Shyza Minelli (the first and only woman in the Tuningspork team, brings her view of how electro, old school and funk mix with sounds of the future -- by far the prettiest member of the family), B. aka Bjoern Hartmann (Bjoern, along with Jay Haze co-founded Tuningspork and Textone.org. His brand of quirk has seen its shares of headbobbing from Europe to Japan), Guido Schneider (probably the most exciting minimal producer of the year, bringing his organic funk-infected grooves to the masses in a big way) and Falko Brocksieper (one of the biggest surprises of the year -- a true master in dancefloor madness, whether it be for his own imprint Sub-Static or his many commissioned remixes). The conspiracy has finally been uncovered -- now that you know the secret, Tuning Spork asks you to love them back. Qty: 1 Item No. 88082 $18.09

Various 'Poker Flat Volume 5: Bets'n'Bluffs' 2xCD (Poker Flat) Poker Flat Recordings proudly presents its fifth label compilation. Bets'n'Bluffs features the essence of the Poker Flat single-releases from the current season as well as a preview of things to come plus some brand new exclusive tracks. From the bare and trippy minimal techno of Argy's huge hit "Love Dose" or Berkson & What's "If I Was A Man" to Trentemøller's bombastic "Always Something Better," from funky hipshakers à la Bug & Tanzmann's "Shock" or Chardronnet's "Shake It" to quirky soundscapes -- the album covers the full range of modern electronic cutting-edge music. The fifth Poker Flat statement features Steve Bug's Berlin-based inmates such as Guido Schneider, Martin Landsky and Märtini Brös as well as internationally well-reputed producers like Trentemøller, John Tejada, Luciano, Patrick Chardronnet or Martin Buttrich and highly talented newcomers like Argy, Dan Berkson & James What, Limacon, Philippe Autuori, Sian and Jamie Jones. Poker Flat Volume 5 includes the best hits from the current season spearheaded by Luciano's remix for Argy's "Love Dose," Martin Landsky's "1000 Miles," Steve Bug's "Smackman" and Chardronnet's "Shake It," as well as still-to-be-released future classics like Martin Buttrich's "Snapshots" or "If I Was A Man" by Berkson & What. There are six tracks which have been exclusively produced for this album by John Tejada & Bilal Bashir, Dan Berkson & James What, Steve Bug & Clé, Philippe Autuori and Jamie Jones and only these exclusives are included on the double-vinyl version of the album. On the second CD, Poker Flat Volume 5 features a superb bonus-mix by Martin Landsky. Altogether, Poker Flat Volume 5 is a huge package including 24 modern, state-of-the-art songs in the field of techy and reduced house and techno from one of the coolest labels around. Qty: 1 Item No. 88081 $18.09

Various: Presented by Dirt Crew 'Collection 01' 2xCD (Dirt Crew) Dirt Crew Recordings and Players Paradise present their first label compilation in celebration of their 2nd year anniversary. Both truly underground labels offer up a fine selection of past burners and upcoming hot singles. These two CDs will feature 8 exclusive new tracks by the likes of Prudo, James Flavour, Thugfucker, Tigerskin, Adultnapper, Marcello Giordani and Sasse. The first CD will concentrate on the Dirt Crew Recordings artists and styles, in a rough mixture of old school and upfront minimal cuts. Some of the label's finest vinyl releases will be included, like the Dominik Eulberg remix "Hymn of Largo," that blew away everybody two years ago and started the career of this great producer, and the minimal electro burner "Neontrance" from Tigerskin that also went straight into a lot of DJ charts earlier this year. Furthermore, there are some new exciting acts like Lukas from Bristol or Drum Cult from London who both present a fresh and unique mixture of minimal and techy house. CD2 is a review of the more laidback and minimal house-oriented second label, Players Paradise. This sub-label is dedicated to releasing great tunes from young talents throughout the world, such as Marcello Giordani from Italy, whose unique style of Italo and disco-influenced house is truly ear-catching. Mash and Thugfucker are also new to the label and both delivered some fine pieces of ultra cool disco and house-inspired tracks. Along with the big hits from Martinez and Sweet Slave (aka Dirt Crew), this second CD is a very cool disc for your personal laid-back afterhours. Other artists include: Break 3000, Alfa Romero and Serge Santiago. Qty: 3 Item No. 88079 $23.69

Various: Compiled by Gilles Peterson 'Back In Brazil' 2xCD (Ether) GILLES PETERSON returns to Brazil to bring us more lush, lovely sounds. Disc one features rare, classic gems from the likes of JORGE BEN and TRIO MOCOTO, while disc two feats new Brazilian beaters from DEMOCUSTICO, BUGZ IN THE ATTIC, etc. Qty: 1 Item No. 88068 $24.69

Robert Klane (Dir.) 'Thank God It's Friday' DVD (Columbia Pictures) It's Friday and everyone is going to the hot new disco. The Commodore's are scheduled to play if Floyd shows up with the instruments and Nicole dreams of becoming a disco star. Other characters are there to win the dance contest, or to put a little excitement into a fifth anniversary. Stars Donna Summer and Jeff Goldblum and features Donna's classic "Last Dance" Granted, it's no Saturday Night Fever, but still a noteworthy film from the disco era. Qty: 1 Item No. 88072 $16.49

Giorgos Gatzigristos 'Basics' 12in (K2) The Greek-born but Holland dwelling DJ and producer Giorgos Gatzigristos moves forward with his second single on K2. Compared to its tasteful and laid-back predecessor (Skip Tutorial), Basics shifts up two groove-charged gears. The title track flourishes on an unstoppable oldschool bassline that is destined to touch all who come near it. Not unlike the sway of the Bolero, frequencies and melodies precisely shift through a hypnotic groove. Eight minutes of blissful escape are guaranteed! 'Caustic' reaches for the big-room. He succeeds to reach the caliber of a classic techno track, that would be expected of a producer to create in order to play in the techno Olympics. No doubt that Giorgos Gatzigristos easily qualifies and would be certain to go home with the gold! Qty: 2 Item No. 88091 $10.69

Mr. Blend 'Cutty Diana' 7in (Rhythm & Booze) Followup to the inspired (and sold out) "MESSAGE TO ODB" which mixed THE SPECIALS with ODB comes this new 2 track 7" with a mix of dub, disco and hip hop. CUTTY RANKS mixed with DIANA ROSS ("UPSIDE DOWN") and BUSTA RHYMES mixed with JOCELYN BROWN ("SOMEBODY ELSE'S GUY"). Delicious! Qty: 2 Item No. 88059 $11.49

Breakout 'Planet Rock' 12in The red hot 7" funk cover of BAMBAATAA's classic, which has now sold 3,000 copies (!!!) gets released on 12" with devastating new mixes. Both parts of the 7" (now combined), BONUS BEATS, the new JAZZ REMIX with live strings and flute, and "PLANET FUNK". Dope Dope Dope. Don't sleep on this! Qty: 3 Item No. 88062 $13.19

2 Live Crew 'Revelation/What I Like' 12in (Electro Eternal) An early must have classic from the man who busted hip-hop's cherry, forever injecting raw sex lyrics into the game. Now re-pressed for a new generation of booty shakers. Qty: 1 Item No. 88071 $6.99

Knights of the Turntables 'Techno Scratch' 12in (JDC) Classic of the electric boogaloo era back on wax with a legit re-pressing. The real deal. Qty: 1 Item No. 88069 $6.99

Orbit (Re)Orbit feat. Carol Hall 'The Beat Goes On' 12in (Dunk) Wicked old school scratch and breaks joint gets a tidy legit re-press. File this alongside Buffalo Gals. Qty: 2 Item No. 88070 $6.99

Wicked Lester 'The Honey EP' 12in (Bigfoot Records) WICKED LESTER returns with a fine funky breaks offering for BIG FOOT. On this 12" the WICKED LESTER fave "WHERE'S MY HONEY" gets a superb jazzbreaks remix from DR. RUBBERFUNK that oozes soul. Also includes a WAX ROMEO remix thats on an electro breaks tip & an original cut called "RED FUNK" Qty: 1 Item No. 88054 $8.19

Aroy Dee 'Embrace' 12in (MOS) AROY DEE strikes again with 2 more spiritual old school Chicago house moveers for the M>O>S label. "DARK DAYS" is influenced by old VIRGO tracks with its smooth drum patterns. "EMBRACE" takes on a more euro 80's feel thats a bit darker but no less potent. Qty: 2 Item No. 88063 $13.19

Basic Soul Unit 'Deep Blue' 12in (Versatile) Hypnotic and deep but always funky, Stuart Li presents classic techno grooves on Deep Blue. With his elaborate arrangements, his melodic loops and seductive, pushing basslines, he delivers three different, sometimes minimal new pieces. "Deep Blue" whisks you away with a continuous acid line, before transporting you with a deep and flowing house groove. "The March Ahead" starts off with a simple sound pattern and a lush techno beat, then introduces echoing drums plus some very exciting spherical chords. "Pàssaro" winds its way up for five uplifting minutes, becoming more and more dramatic with its techno/trance-y pads and thick percussive beats. Qty: 3 Item No. 88100 $11.49

Dachshund 'Floating Jesus EP' 12in (Num) Ahh shit another Num Record release. What the fuck, who can care about a label that releases more then every other? Well, you do...you do because finally and for Christ sake, the fucking music on this shitty piece of expensive petrol is simply brilliant, again. Dachshund, our little not-yet-that-known pearl from Geneva is the sniper on this one. After his massively acclaimed release on 60Sec, his crazy and reaching the sky remix for Num Records (again), the dude delights us here with a full 12" for Num Records. A1: 'Jesus Floating.' God, Jesus, The Lord or whoever else has nothing to do with this religiously wild dance anthem. Dachshund is the only guilty soul on this one... funny enough, this track reminds me listening to The KLF for hours, but not only The KLF, the clever young fellow took as well some Thomas Melchior groove ingredients that simply get you right where they all wait for you. The Floor with a big F, por favor. B1: 'Somehow.' 'Somehow' takes you deeper into the doggy style, it drives you into the corner of what you are. The places you never wish to visit but finally, left on your own thinking about where you are, it suddenly fits you pretty good to just be here dancing along with all these mongo and being maybe evenly assimilated with them. But what you don't get is that Dachshund manages very well to make you one of them. B2: 'Your Bitch.' Who knows, once this dirty sentence might be thrown at you like we use to throw stones at each other way back. And again, I'd prefer my ears to be enlighten by these somehow (referring to the other track, are you following??) pretty cool words isn't it? Anyhow, a house tinted cut that'll sure make you move, not move away but move closer. Qty: 3 Item No. 88097 $10.69

Deadbeat 'Version Emersion' 12in (~Scape) Version Immersion provides three numerically-coded mixes of a single collection of sounds, with each version contained herein having been specifically configured for burning up a slightly different dancefloor. Whether the night calls for a dose of snap-clap dancehall stomp, gurgling dubby minimal, or you're just looking for a nice slow builder that will give you enough time to run to the bathroom, this record has got you covered. Qty: 1 Item No. 88104 $9.89
Dennnis Ferrer 'Transitions/Destinations' 12in (King Street Sounds) Qty: 4 Item No. 88051 $8.19

DJ Emerson 'Deep Freakin'' 12in (Sub Static) A long-term runner of the honest techno and the real Berlin Underground on a new routing at Sub Static: DJ Emerson, the formerly everlasting 'district talent,' has matured into a serious player of the international minimal league and presents himself as a subtle thinker with strong sprinter's calves: there one can send his sounds also on the long distance without slacking on their event impact rate. 'Ring My Bell' enthusiasts with a dynamic-functional arrangement, keenly turns the innovation screw and knows his dancer's crowd exactly. Also 'The Touch' tap-dances wholehearted and freshly over the parquet -- like already the A-side -- attaches the blade, indeed two feet deeper: Deepness as a measure of excessive partying is more than only a nice habit, but a sign of the correct heart education. More drive than Daddel is the motto of the spicy bopping 12", which is still rounded off, by one, how should we say it, brilliant remix by Sweet'N'Candy. The way he rocks it down percussively seems as created for a fertile conversation to the basic material whose quality can be not excelled indeed, but intelligently commented on. Before now the bespectacled 'around stayers' pull out their notepads, we rather give further to the party. Hello rave, do they hear us? Oh yes, the connection stands. Qty: 2 Item No. 88103 $11.59

Drum Cult 'Radio' 12in (Dirt Crew) John Askew and Zak Frost are Drum Cult. John is a highly respected techno/trance producer and Zak is a leading figure in the world of alternative house with his cult London club, Nodisko. Both have also rocked dancefloors worldwide with their DJ sets. "Radio" is a true rocker with delicate melodies and solid beat programming, reminding of early Dirt Crew. Catchy vocals and a nice flow throughout makes this single similar to the sounds of Mike Monday and the Playtime crew. The first remix is by the bassthedub heroes 2020 Soundsystem, who transform the track into a great minimal stomper, fully loaded with tons of bass and a great live feel to it. The flip offers another deep and spacey rework by Dirt Crew. The perfect mix of deep house and techno, this remix is smooth and powerful. Qty: 1 Item No. 88083 $11.49

Duoteque/Maximilian Skiba 'Tuning #04' 12in (Boxer Sport) Team 1: My My from Playhouse racing team stands out for his congenial teamwork. Lee and Nick are spinning over the curvy, asphaltic track, unblushingly thwarting their competitors' effort. They are famous for their delicate groove and optimum sound density, and with a watchmaker's precision, they dissect and reconstruct every single sound... so it looks as if they will do it in the training. Team 2: Zimmermann Jens used to drive for Room Records before. In this Boxer Tuning race, he drives with his eyes blindfolded and under the influence of some hallucinogens, but still -- and of course -- like a sovereign. Instead of spurts in between, he prefers constancy. It takes him 14 minutes to go through all these fogbanks and bizarre soundscapes with an immense precision. Well, it must sound like low-speed to get a pit babe, you know. And we are already looking forward to this 'Park fermé' and the aftershow party! Qty: 1 Item No. 88098 $10.69

efdemin/Angelo Battilani 'Lohn & Brot/Empty' 12in (Liebe Detail) "According to their policy of promoting fresh talent, Liebe Detail feature 20 year-old Italian Angelo Battilani from Ravenna on the flipside. He has released one EP on the Milan-based label Stereoseven Plus so far. His tack here is not as empty as the track title suggests, although you can certainly label it 'minimal,' in which 'Empty' is not referring to the genre so much in a deranged afterhour sense. It rather focuses on highly dynamic beats, which slightly shift during the course of nine-and-a-half minutes. Using only a few, precisely set elements, Battilani turns this one into a rocking tool that, despite its straightforwardness, manages to roll flexibly. After Phillip Sollmann aka Efdemin has finished his studies at the Institute For Computer music in Vienna, he moved to Berlin, where he has found a lot of opportunities to engage himself intensively with techno and house again. His track 'Bergwein' on Dial and his work as Pigon on Just together with Oliver Kargl are an impressive evidence of the rekindled love affair with this music. Where Efdemin's earlier production work was rather focused on slow, abstract house in the vein of Theo Parrish, he has now turned to a more functional approach without losing his special sense for deepness. Efdemin's sound design has become a lot more unobscured and differentiated. And he knows how to adjust old school influences to contemporary listening habits, which makes 'Lohn & Brot' the sublime hit one could only expect from Efdemin." Qty: 2 Item No. 88088 $11.59

Ernesto Ferreyra 'Memoria Colectiva' 12in (Mutek Records) Argentinian Ernesto Ferreyra is one half of the critically-acclaimed duo Chic Miniature, and this is his first solo release. Start the evening off with the suave, gently-building groove of "Border Light," throw "Cloody" into the mix when things start to really heat up: its walloping bass, snappy hand percussions, distortion-heavy vocals and raw effects are ideal for getting your freak on. "El Cuento del Tio" is a B-side curve ball best lobbed in the wee hours of the morning. If a Day of the Dead procession invaded a minimal techno party in a deserted industrial warehouse somewhere between Mexico City and Montreal, this is what it might sound like. Qty: 1 Item No. 88085 $9.89

Heiroglyphic Being 'Cosmic Dust' 12in (Mathematics) Its no surprise HIEROGLYPHIC BEING's MATHEMATICS label is releasing lost Chicago tracks from the days of old because this guy is clearly obsessed. If one didn't know better, these tracks could easily be mistaken for techno tunes from 15 years ago... which is a good thing of course. Qty: 2 Item No. 88064 $9.09

James Figurine 'Apologies/Elven Numbers RMXS' 12in (Monika) Remixed by Superpitcher, DJ Koze, Tobias Thomas This is the second remix 12" to be taken from James Figurine's classic Apologies album. A Kompakt triple-bill of DJ Koze and Superpitcher with Tobias Thomas complete the techno pop club-sandwich. DJ Koze's exclusive mix playfully experiments with the original, adding acid sounds, dropping the beat out altogether at times and warping Jimmy Tamborello's voice until it is almost unrecognizable. Superpitcher and Tobias Thomas deliver a danceable take on the album's opening track: their sequencing expertise make it truly club compatible. The eleven numbers "55566688833" spell "love" when written in SMS. And who can help but love the glorious techno-pop music of James Figurine? Qty: 1 Item No. 88084 $10.49

Jeff Bennett 'Surface Diving' 12in (Manual Music) "Manual Music is a Dutch label focusing on quality house music, aiming at the serious dance music lover. This label will not release music in any specific genre in house music... we don't like to categorize! So expect minimaltechfunkyproghouse releases on this label without boundaries. Manual Music is on a roll, providing you with one quality EP after another! This time it's Jeff Bennett's turn to sign for an essential release. He already did a remix on the Edo van Asseldonk release which went down really well for many jocks, and now it's time for Jeff's solo debut on the Manual label. The name Jeff Bennett must sound familiar with every serious house music follower. Jeff has been around releasing records since the year 2000 and has released on highly acclaimed labels such as PokerFlat, Plastic City, Treibstoff, Deeplay, Eukahouse and many others. 'Surface Diving' is a deep floating breakbeat track that has got that fine retro feel. Retro but timeless! Dutch youngster Qbical who surprised everyone with his debut release on Manual Music and with his wicked live sets he is doing in Holland lately reworks the original with his very own Warm Fuzzy sounds. Finally Jeff reworks his own original with his famous 'minimix' sounds. A bit more techy and punchy but mighty fine!" Qty: 1 Item No. 88087 $10.69

Jeff Samuel 'I Think They Are Trying to Say Something' 12in (Trapez) I Think They Are Trying To Say Something" was not released on Jeff Samuel's Step LP, but as it gained a great reputation in Jeff Samuel's DJ sets, Trapez now releases it in a specially-mastered vinyl version. This epic track with its large amount of delays and effects creates a magic, smooth and gentle feeling. This is very unique and shows Jeff's ambition to extend the genre of minimal techno, to one with more emotion and soul. As Geoff Robert says of the track, "'I Think They Are Trying To Say Something' is an evocative bit of tech-house combining ethereal pads and some brilliant use of flange & delay ... In a way, you could call Jeff Samuel the Frank Zappa of electronica, with glimpses of sheer musical intelligence hiding around every bizarre corner. Qty: 1 Item No. 88101 $11.49

John Dahlback 'At the Gun Show Part 2' 12in (Pickadoll) This is the second 4-tracker taken from the latest album of this boy wonder. More insane action music for excessive parties with mad melodies, tweaked and off-kilter basses and killer arrangements. John simply has the guts to work out these ideas. Qty: 1 Item No. 88108 $11.59

Kevin Gorman 'DMX' 12in (International Deejay Gigolo) The northern English city of Manchester has produced such great names as The Fall, The Stone Roses and New Order. So it's about time that the capital of the north delivered a Gigolo too. And Kevin Gorman is that man; an electronic music producer, DJ and owner of label Mikrowave. Both his first and second releases on Mikrowave have also been licensed to compilations by Deepgroove and Jeff Bennett, respectively. Qty: 1 Item No. 88092 $12.39

Matt French 'Die Rakete Updated' 12in (Tora! Tora! Tora!) Remixed by Someone Else, Dietrich Schoenemann, 1up NYC techno lives as Tony Rohr's Tora! Tora! Tora! imprint drops the proof positive. Matt French's Die Ratete gets remixes here from US techno phenom Someone Else, Hidden Agnenda's Dietrich Schoenemann and Tont himself under his 1up moniker. Choice. Qty: 3 Item No. 88075 $7.39

MISC. 'Goetterfunken' 12in (Klang Elektronik) Misc. are back on Klang Elektronik with another 'opus de steel.' Hammering out brute beats en masse, they start with the thunderous 'Goetterfunken.' Over hard driving basslines, Misc. serve up some straight kickin' music on a platinum plate. Hissing hi-hats and cymbals add enough dirtiness to make it sexy for the dancefloor. Roll over, Beethoven! Qty: 1 Item No. 88090 $10.69
Moonbeam 'Vodka and Sand EP' 12in (Regular) Moonbeam is groove, is tech-house in hi-fi, is electro, is... After their passage by Traum and other labels in their ascending career, Moonbeam arrives in Regular with a record of presentation and clear consolidation of their direct, clear and eclectic speech. Side A: 'Vodka and Sand' is a extreme subject groove, electronic, and direct to the dance floor, we call electro tech-house... 'Hunt Main' in the B1 is another history: deep, patient in its progression and highly effective from the beginning. 'Cobalt Sun' like other so many jewels, keeps for the B2, an electro track, funny, melodic and direct to the audience. Qty: 1 Item No. 88105 $11.59

Nicholas Sauser & Ditch 'Vizard EP' 12in (Goosehound) Remixed by Barem Goosehound returns with its fourth release, the Vizard EP by Nicholas Sauser and Ditch. These two are known for a handful of excellent releases on labels like Microcosm, Safari Electronique and Minibar. The title track, 'Vizard,' starts the listener on a dark journey dripping with eerie rhythms and organic textures. A kick emerges from the moody ambience to lead the way for syncopated percussion and brooding bass. All of these elements build together to create an infectious and danceable atmosphere sprinkled with the remains of a dissected conversation. On the B-side, Barem pulls 'Vizard' in a funkier direction with his rework, while maintaining the moody atmosphere of the original. With shuffling percussion and a bassline designed to invigorate, the haunting beeps add the slightest oomph while keeping the listener shrouded in mystery as to where the track will travel next. New layers of found sound and engineered samples work their way into the track as the adventure continues culminating in an build-up of reverberation. 'I Gotta Move On' is a melting pot of dark, groovy and quirky ingredients; the perfect recipe for contemporary dancefloor experimentalism with a dash of the bizarre. Sauser's edgy vocal samples are chopped so fine you'd think they were cut with a chef's knife. At a certain point Ditch's bassline rolls in and takes over your body and sends your mind on vacation. Progressing from a quick chop and slowly turning sporadic, the high hat displays a great rhythm at either end of the spectrum. Qty: 3 Item No. 88093 $10.69

Phage & Daniel Dreier/Franklin DeCosta 'Split_4' 12in (Sender) Here are Swat Squad & Alecs Marta with smooth science fiction on Treibstoff. This time however, our Spanish experts in minimal glam sounds have added an extra layer of polish. Aerodynamically sanded and lusciously spinning, these two tracks drift through the ether leaving crackling vapor trails in the club's sky. A complex effects structure is embedded in finest beats and the constantly punching bassline will keep your adrenaline level high. This is first-class, classic laid-back as well as highly energetic techno music. Well, it's Treibstoff, you know. Qty: 2 Item No. 88096 $10.69

Quizz 'The Monster Is In' 12in (Dialect) Follow up to 'Are You Sure You Want To Know Me,' Quizz and El Nigno team up again on this track 'The Monster Is In Town.' Besides the freaky original version, you'll find the 2 winners of the remix competition organized by I-DJ: Toby Tobias (Rekids, Bearfunk, Hi Phen..) is stealing the show with his slow burning electro disco behemoth that sets a hypnotic atmosphere before kicking into a groovy rework of the main theme. Philippe Autuori has music to be released on the German biggie Poker Flat, his mix is funky electro-techno rework with plenty of mean synths stabs and a smart use of the vocals. Club material. Qty: 1 Item No. 88099 $11.59

Redhead 'Crash & Burn EP' 12in (MBSelektions) After the EP Time For A Change on his own imprint Red Factory, and the very successful anthem "2 Hearts" on MB Elektronics, for Belgium-based Redhead, Crash & Burn EP is the next logical step. "The Tale of 100 Knights" is a beautiful atmospheric chill-out track that may remind some people of Boards Of Canada. Both tracks on the B-side are pure dancefloor material: the title track and "Sliding Doors" are on the pure minimal tip. Think Minus, think Wighnomy Brothers, and you're almost there. Qty: 1 Item No. 88086 $11.49

Shaun Reeves & Miss Fitz 'This House EP' 12in (Raum) Maayan Nidam, also known as Miss Fitz was born in Tel Aviv. After having lived in Amsterdam for a while, she moved to Berlin three years ago. This was also the place where she first met Shaun Reeves. Shaun originally hails from Motorcity Detroit, but he also moved to Berlin three years ago. Maayan started producing her own music in 1999. Two years later she also started working as a DJ. Shaun started producing music four years ago and this EP for Raum is the first release both of them have worked out together. Even though you can describe their music with the word 'minimal,' the tracks always catch you especially with their warm, punchy sound that is definitely more based in house. Qty: 1 Item No. 88106 $10.69

Skatebard 'June Nights South of Sienna' 12in (Sex Tags Mania) "Super producer from Norway! He delivers something as beautiful as maximalism in the ages of minimalism. 'June Nights South of Siena,' a track that is so good it doesn't deserve anything but a one sided 12" as i's home. The track starts with a instantly catchy bassline and moves on with the most stunning handclaps this side of the millennium. Rims, rides, congas, strings and pianos! This track is 100%! The neo-italo fans are already crazy about this track, so you should be more than happy to have this in your hands, we know we are. In August 2006 he released his acclaimed debut album Midnight Magic, a beautiful melodic blend of italo and techno, up-and-down tempo." Qty: 1 Item No. 88089 $11.59

Swat Squad And Alecs Marta 'Speaking In Silver' 12in (Triebstoff) Here are Swat Squad & Alecs Marta with smooth science fiction on Treibstoff. Qty: 1 Item No. 88095 $10.69

Terapia EP 'Alejandro Vivanco' 12in (Dumb Unit) The Argentinian invasion is upon us and we are more than happy to invite them to play. First one up to join the DU sandbox is Alejandro Vivanco. He is one of the protagonists to watch as he has proven his talent on previous releases and delivers his next treat with his Terapia EP. A straight solid groove sets the foundation from where he builds his musical construction and on top he adds some sympathetic weirdness to create this certain twist we enjoy. He is surely one of the bigger drops of this bucket of talent that is pouring over us from Argentina -- a land which is about to rearrange the texture of the minimal-Neverland. But who can be surprised? Folks with such good steak are destined for world domination... Qty: 2 Item No. 88094 $10.69

Touane 'Prosa' 12in (Persona) 2006 has been a banner year for Touane, with releases on Persona, Dumb Unit and Trenton Records. Showing a remarkable range of styles, Marco frequently twists the archaic instrumentalism of '70s cocktails and wife-swapping into space-age dance music. "Wisdom Tooth" kicks off the A-side of this EP like a nitrous mask strapped to your nose, eyes heavy-lidded and fluorescent lights spinning disco ball patterns on your retina. "Previsioni" puffs out an oscillating cloud of suspension and threads of melody cruise past like a Wurlitzer's stripes. "Poesia" and "Prosa" represent the yin and yang of harmony and rhythm, or poetry and prose. Themes are built from reversed guitar, with sweet melodies marking a more contemplative tone, bolstered by sturdy bass lines. Touane is a master of making organic tones out of synthetic sounds. Qty: 1 Item No. 88107 $9.89

Great to see him on Planet E as well, as his heart really belongs in Motor City. Typically emotive chords and strings not really departing from the format but when it's done this well it really doesn't matter - Vince has told me that he has lots more in the pipeline. Sound Dimension 'Jamaica Soul Shake Vol. 1' 2xLP (Soul Jazz) The Sound Dimension were the second most important musical group at Studio One Records (after The Skatalites) and in the late 1960s created the funkiest reggae known to mankind. Featuring a classic line-up that included Jackie Mittoo, Leroy Sibbles, Cedric Brooks, Vin Gordon (aka Don Drummond Jnr), Ernest Ranglin, Leroy 'Horsemouth' Wallace and more, The Sound Dimension literally invented the sound of reggae with their unique style. During this period they played on hundreds of hits at Studio One with Jamaica's finest vocalists such as Alton Ellis, John Holt, Larry Marshall, Cornell Campbell, Dennis Brown, Horace Andy, The Heptones, Bob Andy, Marcia Griffiths, Freddie McGregor -- to name a few! The name Sound Dimension came from an echo-box machine that Sir Coxsone Dodd bought in England whilst on tour in 1967 with Jackie Mittoo and The Soul Vendors (on one gig they were even supported by Jimi Hendrix!). On returning to Jamaica, the new in-house band were christened The Sound Dimension, and the distinctive double-time echo on the guitar and keyboards that they created has become at the heart of all reggae music ever since. This is the first- ever collection of the music of The Sound Dimension in the world and features a mixture of classic tracks alongside super-rare singles only ever released in Jamaica. Qty: 1 Item No. 88111 $25.99

Various 'Studio One Scorcher Vol. 2 Instrumentals' 2xLP (Soul Jazz) The latest Studio One release to be released on Soul Jazz Records features a stellar line-up of Jamaica's finest ever musicians. The legendary Skatalites, alongside the later Studio One in-house bands -- the Soul Vendors, Sound Dimension, Soul Defenders and Brentford Road All Stars -- were as much a part of the classic Studio One sound as were the singers that they accompanied such as Alton Ellis, Horace Andy, Marcia Griffiths and Bob Marley and The Wailers. This album features many of the musicians involved with Studio One who literally defined reggae music. From the Skatalites members Tommy McCook, Roland Alphonso, Jackie Mittoo to killer sidemen such as trombonist Vin Gordon (aka Don Drummond Jnr), saxophonist Cedric 'Im' Brooks, keyboardist and Twelve Tribes of Israel member Pablove Black. Many of the rhythms that these musicians created became the back-bone of the Jamaican musical world and their songs have been replayed and re-versioned by 1000s of reggae producers ever since. The album features classic and super-rare tracks all recorded under Clement 'Sir Coxsone' Dodd's supervision at the legendary recording studio and record label. As well as seventeen killer tracks, the album comes with new sleevenotes and photography by Dennis Morris and Adrian Boot making this another essential Studio One Reggae release for connoisseurs of reggae and newcomers alike. Luciano 'Luciano: Live @ Weetamix ' CD (Max.E.-CD2) Mixed by Luciano The 2nd CD release on Thomas Brinkmann's MaxErnst label, from the Swiss producer Luciano (previous 12" releases on Mental Grooves, Bruchstucke, Klang Elektronik). Beautiful Q-tip cover artwork. "This outstandingly good Weetamix session from Mental Groove's Luciano has hit us like a bolt out the blue on this fine Summer afternoon. For those of you in need of enlightenment, Mental Groove is Switzerland's answer to Berlin's Bpitch Control -- a house of discoid madness and futuristic electronic exploration. This, however, offers us something a little different from the impossibly cool Luciano. 9 tracks mixed in from start to finish, the aroma here is one of pure innovation, sounds culled from an archive of musical inspiration that makes constant audio reference to Atom Heart, Akufen, Autechre and Brinkmann himself, tracks intricately pieced together from an array of found sounds, layer upon layer of tweaked samples and loops that come together in one giant impressive stretch of beats and cuts. As live sets go, it really doesn't get much better than this." Qty: 1 Item No. 82971 $18.49

Rhythm & Sound 'Rhythm & Sound' CD (Basic Channel) 2001 release, available again. "Berlin's Basic Channel Crew has been most influential in the field of minimal Techno-Soundscapes. With the sub-labels Maurizio, Main Street Records, Burial Mix and Rhythm & Sound Mark Ernestus und Moritz Von Oswald created platforms for different aspects of their own productions, and with Chain Reaction for productions from their musical environment. The present CD contains most of the material released on the Rhythm & Sound label -- only on vinyl 12"/10" so far -- since it's launch in 1998. The material is remastered and partially edited for CD format, to create a continuous flow through the wide spectrum ranging from minimal, abstract electronics to driving uptempo grooves with a stronger influence of classic Jamaican dub elements in the best Basic Channel tradition, including highlights like 'Smile', the only vocal track (featuring Savage), 'Mango Drive' a re-shape of the Chosen Brothers' 1979 unreleased Reggae tune 'Mango Walk', or 'No Partial', inspired by the essential, though never generally released 'Higher Fieldmarshall Dub' by the Wailers Band. Packaged in a stunning 'nature' digipack again." Qty: 1 Item No. 88080 $17.09

Rhythm & Sound 'See Mi Yah Remixes' CD (Burial Mix) Through projects and labels like Basic Channel, Maurizio or Main Street Records, the Berlin-based producer team of Mark Ernestus and Moritz von Oswald have exerted a decisive influence on the worldwide development of techno-house and electronic music during the '90s. Under the name Rhythm & Sound, Ernestus and von Oswald pioneered their own hybrid of reggae, dub and electronics. In recent years, they have come up with their own and totally unique definition of reggae. See Mi Yah (released in March 2005) is a classic "one-riddim-album" comprised of ten vocal versions plus the original instrumental track of the "See Mi Yah"-riddim by Rhythm & Sound. On See Mi Yah one can hear the voices of Paul St.Hilaire, Ras Perez, Koki, Ras Donovan, Freddy Mellow, Walda Gabriel, Sugar Minott, Willi Williams, Bobbo Shanti, Lance Clarke as Rod Of Iron and Joseph Cotton aka Jah Walton as Jah Cotton. The remix-version of the album (initially released as a series of 12" singles throughout the spring of 2006) transplants the "strictly roots" approach of the originals into the club. The result is a diversified collection of excellent club tracks. And while each of these retains its autonomy and its individuality, the whole album sounds as if carved from one piece. From dry digi-dub, UK steppers, minimal electronic and disco house to deep atmospheric tracks, all kinds of current club sounds are represented here. This project brings together several generations of DJs and producers: from collaborators of long standing such as DJ legend Carl Craig to promising newcomers, a great array of artists helped to create this album. Remixers include: Soundstream, Ricardo Villalobos, Carl Craig, Tiki, Sweet Substance, François K., Vladislav Delay, Vainqueur, Sleeparchive and Hallucinator. Qty: 1 Item No. 86958 $17.09

DJ Spinna 'Intergalactic Soul' 2xLP (Wonderwax) Vinyl version of DJ SPINNA's artist album on CD via SHANACHIE. 14 tracks of "intergalactic soul" (somewhere between neo soul, nujazz and r&b) with a who's who of guest vocalists: N'DEA DAVENPORT, FREE RADIKALZ, HEAVY, LIZZ FIELDS, TORTURED SOUL, ERIC ROBERSON and more! (WONDERWAX) "... Using those astro, high-reverb synths that Vangelis and Jean-Michel Jarre liked so much and bits of vocoder a la Zapp, it sounds like Spinna's scored the music for Virgin's first passenger flights to the moon. And he's got a funky bunch of vocalists to voice each cut - Phonte of Little Brother, Stephanie McKay (remember her?), Heavy, Erro, Christian Ulrich, N'Dea Davenport... Intergalactic dope on plastic!" -STRAIGHT NO CHASER (SUMMER 2006) "Revving up like any good night, this entire album is filled with downtempo hip hop and soulful cuts... Spinna's obviously not afraid to blur sounds or pre-conceptualized genres, as he keeps it all in the relatable scope of fun. My favorite moment was realizing that "Computer Love" is about a synthesizer waxing poetic on the crush it has on the computer down the hallway. I can just see the hearts emanating off electrical circuitry." -URB (June 2006) Tracklisting: 1. Current Events ft. Alphonso Greer 2. Intergalactic Soul ft. Phonte of Little Brother 3. Cobblestone Jazz 'India In Me' 12in (Wagon Repair) Cobblestone Jazz has been performing live electronic music for five years together. The three members of the group are programmer Tyger Dhula, keyboardists Danuel Tate and Mathew Jonson. The nature of their music balances electronic composition with a live and moving element that results in the exploration of many different styles. Cobblestone is a bit of an anomaly in this day and age of studio refinement, opting to approach music from a performance perspective first, as opposed to recreating studio pieces for their live shows. A large part of this is due to the involvement of Tate, whose background as a jazz musician has led to a large emphasis on playing live. The group's influences range from jazz and dub to breakbeats and minimal techno, and many points in between. Likened by some to electronic whales singing to each other, the groove undulates and develops constantly over the course of each session. Both tracks are recorded and mixed in a live outboard setting. No pre-arrangement was done; the tracks are just improvised and mixed straight to tape. Both build and destroy dancefloors, capturing minds and feet, waking us up to the unique and unmistakable sound of Cobblestone Jazz. Qty: 1 Item No. 87661 $9.89

Jackie Mittoo, Alton Ellis, Sound Dimension, Cedric Brooks, Jacob Miller and many more bring you classic original Reggae Funk from American funk anthems such as 'It's a Shame', 'Shaft', Booker T and The MG's' 'Melting Pot' and 'Hang Em High' to heavyweight versions of 'Beat Down Babylon', 'Skylarking', 'Westbound Train' and many more.
