Esper edition I believe. My copy is scratched up and I can't find a link for it. Anyone help me out with this?

Also I would love a version that isn't indexed. It was really annoying to have the music playing and pause between the tracks.

Thanks.

What do you mean, 'scratched up' ?? Do you mean the bootleg CD you probably bought? The files I found a long time ago seem to be impervious to physical damage. I imagine that you should scour the Net a bit, it's certainly one of the most widely available things out there... but this board cannot be used to post links to any of that cheeky stuff.

Shame the label/movie studio never could make an official release out of this landmark piece of music. I guess it really makes more sense by the minute why the record business is disintegrating. They are handcuffed by their own greed (as made real by their iron-clad contracts of exclusivity) and do not appear to have the flexible mindset required to survive.

Sort of a music business version of that all-american anachronism, the Tea Party. "I Want My Outdated Music Distribution System Back"

I mean that my CD was scratched up like a few others I have that got abused from overuse and travel.

With the following that movie has and how well the newer versions, limited editions and master whatever you'd think they would get clued in.

Will search the web.

No. They wouldn't clued in, because they cannot.... they are bound by some agreements that can make all but impossible to get clued in.

Soundtracks are funny like that, because many times there are intractable rights issues that cannot be resolved when it comes to release in another format than the movie itself.

I remember reading about this particular case, but cannot recall the exact issues that prevented release.

Whatever. The stuff is out there for free, in a sense it doesn't really matter because it could be argued that what's ultimately important is the preservation of our culture. For now, the Net has been a great repository of our shared culture.

Maybe Film Score Monthly will manage to do something of an official release on one of their gorgeous limited edition packages at some stage?

I hear what you're saying FK. Basically if it ain't gonna make them money and they need to be almost 100% that it will shit ain't happening. There are some soundtracks I would love to see get remixed or reinterpreted.. I have a spot in my heart for a lot horror soundtracks from the 70s that I'm sure would make great ambient/dub/dance tracks...

If you could what movie soundtrack would you like to play with?

This probably explains why I never managed to pick it up on vinyl. The 94 release CD from Warners does suffice, a great listen.

Have you listened to the Esper Edition? Because honestly, in my opinion it puts that other stuff to shame... It's really all of the music contained in the movie rather than just a few bits besides the main theme.
