This came up in a recent PM. Thought it would make a decent topic. So many beautiful tracks that are beatless but still pack an incredibly fluid motion.

"Energy Fields" Taho [Delsin]

"Computer Incantations For World Peace" Jean-Luc Ponty [Atlantic]

"Spores" Vince Watson [Delsin]

"Darkness" Carl Craig [Planet E]

"Echo Waves" Manuel G÷ttshing [Virgin]

"Mixte" Philipe Cam [Tram Schallplatten]

"Theme From It's All Gone Pearshaped" Digital Justice [Transmat]

And of course a complete album of beatless mixes from Kaito "Trust Less" [Kompakt]

I am choosing not to post too many YouTube embedded links as they tend to crash the browser past 20 or more, but one or three won't hurt anyone.

Would love to hear some more suggestions!! I know there are some Lindstr°m and Prins Tomas ones as well...

For albums, Brian Eno - Apollo

& some individual tracks I love

Peter Gabriel - Passion (title track of the album which is wonderful too although not all beatless)

Steve Reich & Pat Metheny - Electric counterpoint - Fast (Movement 3)

Joe Claussell meets Manuel Gottsching - Shuttlecock (has this ever been played at Deep Space I wonder? - my god, what amazing sounds)

A.R Rahman - Mumbai theme tune (from Cafe Del Mar Vol 5)

Underground Resistance - A moment in time (Galaxy 2 Galaxy comp)

Frankie Valentine - Back of beyond (from the Tax on Talent album)

Some more personal favorites from Steve Reich:

- Music For 18 Musicians
- Music For Large Ensemble

Yesterday I was enjoying the ambient mix of System 7's "Jupiter!"
