Ha,ha! Good thread. I agree, here is better than twitter.
Anyway, I'm considering getting one. I see Dj Tech Tools are practically throwing in a bag these days, plus the US price is way cheaper than over here in the first place. There's always a risk with buying such stuff online though, since shipping it back if something is wrong is always a complete pain in the ass. What I was wondering about on Twitter yesterday was whether anyone had been paying close enough attention to the Traktor forum lately, to say if there seems to be a lot of complaints on faulty units or not. Just trying to consider the risk really.
My other questions was regarding the power supply. First of all, do you need to use one? And secondly: if so, does it come with one of those universal ones (where you just switch the bit that goes in the socket)? I seem to remember seeing it somewhere online, but not sure. _________________ Marius

I just had this experience the other day when using a unit that someone provided as a rental. It will definitely work from buss power, but the lights are so dim that they are practically unusable. So if your power supply blows at least you can play the gig (very good) but to be fully usable you definitely need the power supply so that you can see what you are doing unless you work in total darkness, at which point those LED lights would be visible. But faint...
Still using the EFX and Yamaha as well? Peece, T. Tauri
Thanks for letting me know. E-mailed a bit with Dj Tech Tools yesterday to. Apparently, it comes with adapters for worldwide use, so shouldn't be a problem using an American sold here. _________________ Marius
Ha,ha! Yeah, feel a bit like that after having troubleshooted my Heed Questar preamp for 3 1/2 months.
I'm not saying I'm exactly [i]expecting[/] anything to be wrong, but these things do occur. When I picked up a VCI-100 for Jan Erik a few years back, it turned out the first unit had a jog wheel that was damaged. It was good to have somewhere where you could just go back, drop it off and get a new one then.
But, while I've been pondering this, the S4 apparently sold out from the Djtechtools store, so I guess I don't have to worry about getting it within the campaign period. _________________ Marius
